The Carl Benz Academy is pleased to announce the appointment of its new interim President, Professor em. Dr. Jürgen Zimmer, who commenced his role on May 1st, 2016.
Jürgen Zimmer has played an important role in the establishment and operation of the Academy since its inception and is well-placed to take up the position of President, following the recent departure of Professor Dr. Ada Pellert.
Jürgen Zimmer is Professor emeritus of Education Science at the Free University Berlin and Founder and President of the International Academy Berlin for Innovative Pedagogy, Psychology and Economics (INA) gGmbH. He is Founder of the School for Life and President of the School for Life Foundation in Chiang Mai, Thailand. In addition, he is Director for International Affairs of the Rural and Social Management Institute (RASMI) in Bangkok, Thailand. Professor Zimmer sits on the Supervisory Board of High Seas High School, Spiekeroog and is a Consultant of World Economic Forum. He has undertaken consulting and project work in around 30 countries in Asia, Latin America, Africa and Europe and has numerous publications to his name. Professor Zimmer has also been awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Professor Zimmer will fulfil the role of President in an interim capacity until confirmation of the ongoing President is made at the Academy’s next Board of Trustees meeting in 2016.
